Are you planning to have your first Revlite session? Not to worry, we’re here to give you a low down on all things about Revlite. Before booking your first appointment, get to know if Revlite is right for you.
What is Revlite?
Revlite is a next-generation Q-switched laser technology, known as an aesthetic medical laser that offers a wide range of power and versatility. It is mainly used to target all sorts of pigmentations, without harming the surrounding skin for all skin types. It uses an exceptional shutter speed which produces nanosecond pulse, making the procedure safer since less heat will be involved in the process.
The Revlite Laser features the Photoacoustic Technology Pulse, that delivers very narrow pulse widths at peak energy even at larger spot sizes. The trademark Photoacoustic technology is delivered through a superior flat-top beam profile without spikes that are prevalent in other Q-switched Nd:Yag laser. This makes the treatment safe, effective and stable for the patient.
What are the benefits?
Revlite is loved by celebrities and busybodies as it does not take a lot of time.It has a lot of benefits and it has no downtime. It is used to remove varying discolorations such as freckles, acne scars, axillary hyperpigmentation (dark underarms), age spots, even-aged eyebrow tattoos. As a bonus, Revlite laser promotes collagen regeneration and minimizes pores, fine lines and wrinkles in the process so much so that we don’t really need to put a lot of makeup anymore.
How does it work?
Unlike Fractional lasers and other Skin Resurfacing procedures, Revlite has no downtime – There is No peeling and No scabbing so you can go back to your normal activity after treatment laser penetrates the pigments, breaks it apart, absorbed into the skin, and releases the pigments naturally through the lymphatic drainage.
The skin rejuvenation setting does not remove the epidermal layer of the skin. It uses a gentle laser that harmlessly passes through the upper layer of the skin, allowing the skin to heat and stimulate collagen under the skin. This collagen will continue to develop after the treatment. Over the next months, your body will slowly and naturally fill in wrinkles, open pores, and scars on its own.
Having Revlite treatment is like having hot tingling sensation going through your skin. You might feel a slight discomfort due to the effects of the heat but rest assured that its only temporary. To help reduce the heat and discomfort, an ice pack will be applied to the affected area after the end of the treatment.
What do you need to do before getting your Revlite treatment?
Before getting your Revlite treatment, here are some pre-treatment reminders:
- Avoid using any whitening products a day before your treatment.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
- This treatment is not applicable to pregnant women.
What to expect after the treatment?
After the treatment, you might experience redness, mild swelling, and a little bit of discomfort which is normal, but after few hours it will subside.
What other skin pigmentation Revlite can help reduce?
It can help lighten pimple scars, reduce melasma, freckles, age spots, sun spots and liver spots. It can even remove old tattoos that you want to replace with new ones.
Can it whiten dark underarms? How many sessions are needed?
Revlite is capable of targeting dark pigmentations as it uses PTP technology that shatters pigments. It’s recommended to have it done for 6 to 12 sessions. You should also take note that results may vary depending on the person’s skin and its original condition. Some clients can see visible results after several sessions while others need 12sessions or more. Another thing to consider is that some skin has a faster reaction to the Revlite treatment. Others appreciate reduction of pores for as little as 2 sessions. Especially now with the upgraded version of the Revlite system.
Should I get laser hair removal first before availing Revlite for underarms?
We suggest having a laser hair removal treatment done first to permanently target the hair. When the hair thins out, we can start with the Revlite treatment. The reason behind this is that effect will take longer to see because the laser will target the hair pigmentation instead of focusing on the skin itself. Also, plucking and shaving are one of the main reasons behind dark underarms. So if you are getting Revlite treatment and laser hair removal at the same time, it will be hard to see any visible results and it will take more sessions to achieve your desired results.
Do I really need to combine Revlite and Pristine Dermabrasion for underarms to achieve the best result?
For some, we suggest having both because it will be faster to achieve visible results. Since Diamond peel will help in exfoliation of the skin and smoothens the chicken skin, it will be easier for the laser to penetrate the skin.
What causes dark underarms?
There are different causes of dark underarms but the most common are shaving. When we shave, we only cut the top surface of the hair above the skin, thus, it will make our armpits darker due to the hair follicles that were not properly removed. Another cause is strong deodorants.Since most deodorants are composed of chemicals, it can be harmful to the skin and cause it to darken. It is highly suggested to use mild deodorants or homemade remedies.Lastly, accumulation or build up of dead skin cells can also cause dark spots on our underarms. Thus, it’s best to exfoliate regularly.
What other areas can be treated by Revlite?
Revlite is most commonly done on the face and underarms, but you can also have it done on your knees, neck, elbows and even your legs.
Revlite is a treatment loved by celebrities and busy bees as it gives them glowing and youthful skin without spending too much time.Plus, it has no downtime which means it won’t affect your work and daily routine.
