Spider veins are small, twisted blood vessels that lie closer to the skin’s surface. These veins can appear red, purple, or blue and are commonly found on the legs and face, presenting in both small and large patches. They resemble tree branches or spider webs, which is how they got the name “spider veins.”
GentleYag® laser vein removal uses a laser beam applied along the spider veins. The laser energy causes the spider veins to coagulate and shrink. This method is most effective for small and medium-sized spider veins. Patients may experience mild discomfort similar to the sensation of a small rubber band snapping against the skin. Treatments usually do not require pain medications or local anesthetics.
Laser treatment is particularly effective for treating smaller, delicate spider veins, especially those on the face. However, multiple sessions may be necessary to completely remove even the smallest veins.
