What is Revlite Laser Toning or Skin Rejuvenation?
Revlite is a Q-Switched Nd:Yag laser with 1064 nm or 532 nm wavelength that uses non-invasive light energy to gently stimulate skin’s natural collagen. Collagen is the glue that holds the body together. We would literally fall apart without collagen. Collagen in the skin breaks down as we age resulting in wrinkles, fine lines and sagging skin. Furthermore, years of sun exposure and other environmental factors result in pigmentation (like freckles, melasma and sun spots), redness, and enlarged pore size.
Revlite is the best way to treat these skin problems and is indeed proven to minimize pores, treat unwanted pigmentation, rejuvenate the skin, and enhance collagen regeneration and is often called as “Laser Facial”. Basically, Revlite Laser stimulates collagen production which reduces fine lines and wrinkles, lessens or improves pore size, evens out skin tone, removes skin pigmentation and regenerates the skin. Revlite laser can also improve acne scarring and skin texture.
How does Revlite work?
Revlite laser does not affect the outermost layers of the skin and instead passes safely through the upper layers to stimulate collagen beneath the skin. Revlite Laser delivers results with no downtime, which is why patients are more inclined to avail this treatment over other ablative lasers.
5 to 10 treatments of Revlite Laser are normally recommended for maximum results at intervals of 2-4 weeks between treatments. After desired results are achieved, maintenance touch up sessions is recommended especially for treatments of melasma.
Who is Suitable for Revlite Laser Treatment?
Patients with concerns in tattoos, pore size, skin pigments, skin texture and laxity will benefit from this procedure. Revlite is the gold standard for pigmented lesions which includes melasma and freckles. What is the Procedure for Revlite Laser Treatment?
Patients will be asked to read and sign a consent form after consultation before going through the treatment. The area of concern with be cleansed and patient will be provided with a protective eyewear. Revlite Laser treatment is fairly comfortable, but those who have low pain tolerance may request for local anesthesia or any pain medication.
Revlite laser treatment averages 15 to 30 minutes or until the skin turns slightly red.
What is the downtime?
Initially, a mild erythema or redness is to be expected in the treated area. This usually goes away immediately after the treatment depending on the settings used. Patients may resume with normal activities except for heavy work out and use of tretinoin or other products that makes the skin sensitive to light. A post treatment care instruction will be provided for every patient every after Revlite treatment.
When do I start to see results?
How fast the skin improves or the pigments lighten would depend on how the skin will react to the Q-Switched Nd:Yag treatment as the body disposes of the pigments through the lymphatic drainage. Immediate results in areas like the face and armpits are improved texture (like chicken skin and pores on the nose), and whitened hair. Photos will be taken for documentation purposes, and also for future comparison.
