Can you see deep lines in between your eyes? Do you have deep frown lines, crow’s feet or prominent jaw? If you have one of these most common facial concerns of men and women, you may want to go for consultation with a qualified dermatologist.
BOTOX® injected to the jaw can reduce the overall size of the masseter muscle, for improved facial appearance and relaxed jaw muscles as an off label indication. In some ethnicities like Korean and Chinese, women have a propensity to develop “squarish” or prominent jaw. Only few certified dermatologists have the skill to perform Botox in the Masseter or Jaw in a safe and effective manner. It is best to come in for consultation and to ask the dermatologist the extent of his or her experience in doing this type of procedure. Ask for before and after photos of previous clients. Half of the face is usually covered or cropped for confidentiality.

You will appreciate that the BOTOX® for jaw reduction is relatively painless. It takes skill and technique to provide this in a relatively painless manner. It will be done in a sterile room, in about 15 to 20 minutes only. You can go back to work right away since it is a non invasive procedure.
If you have always longed for a smaller, more delicate feature, you would want to consider this treatment. It is more affordable now, than it was before when it first came out in the market. Patients typically notice softening of the masseter muscle at one week and softening of the jawline at 6 weeks. Some researchers have noticed permanent changes to the jawline after 2-3 treatments. However, it is reasonable for patients to expect long term benefit but not permanent changes.
For Frown Lines, Glabellar Lines and Crow’s Feet, the same treatment shall apply with lesser units to be used. Botox will be administered by a board certified dermatologist, and into the muscles. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows.Due to the improvement in style and technique, you don’t need to worry about the “frozen look”. BOTOX® now is done in a more natural way. Some lines may still remain, but the ones that are bothersome will be softened to make the face look more youthful.
All our equipments and supplies are original and authentic. The patient has the option to use Allergan (US Brand) or Botulax. Result lasts in 4 months. All procedures are confidential.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does BOTOX® work?
BOTOX® was initially used in 1977 to treat a problem with the eye muscles called strabismus. FDA approved the use of BOTOX® last 2002 for cosmetic purposes in the area of the glabella region. Before it was approved, it was seen that patients treated for uncontrolled muscle spasms in the face had fewer wrinkles in the skin overlying the treatment muscle.
BOTOX® a purified form of botulinum toxin is injected in very small amounts into the muscle being treated. Injection of Botox into the muscles causes paralysis. Wherever it is injected, the junctions between the nerves and the muscles are destroyed. When the muscles are not used, the wrinkles are not continually being re-created. Eventually the wrinkles, fine lines and furrows lessen.
The actual mechanism of action is by blocking or reducing the release of a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine, which is required in order for the muscle to contract. Without acetylcholine, the muscle will not contract. If the muscle doesn’t contract, then it won’t be able to pull the attached, overylying skin into creases which would result on your face as wrinkles or lines.
How does BOTOX® for Jaw Reduction (Masseter Botox) work?
BOTOX® Jaw Reduction is a safe and effective way to create a more feminine jaw and an attractive oval face without resorting to cosmetic surgery. Injecting the BOTOX® into the masseter, weakens the muscles responsible for clenching and chewing. This overtime causes shrinking or atrophy of the jaw or masseter.
How long does the BOTOX® procedure take?
Preparation for BOTOX® will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes only. Most patients do not need anesthesia as the procedure is fairly tolerable. As the BOTOX® is injected into the facial muscles, it blocks the nerve impulses that cause temporary paralysis of the muscles, which in return smoothens fine lines and wrinkles.
Who are the candidates for BOTOX®?
If the muscles in your outer jaw line by the ear feels hard and large when you clench your teeth, you probably have a square jaw line and would probably be a suitable candidate for Masseter BOTOX®. In other common areas treated with BOTOX®, the best candidates would be adults up to 65 years of age.
What are to be expected after treatment with BOTOX®?
Temporary bruising at the injection site is one of the most common side effects of BOTOX®. This is only temporary, and should not be a cause for alarm. In exceptional cases, drooping of the eyelid can happen when BOTOX® is injected too close to the eyelid muscles but the effects are only temporary. The other side effects of BOTOX® injection are temporary swelling, or some discomfort in the treated area. There may also be difficulty in swallowing or dysphagia, upper respiratory infection such as cold or flu, neck pain and headache.
Some residual activity is normal when treated with BOTOX® in the glabellar, as complete paralysis is not a desirable or a realistic goal for most patients. Discuss your expectations with your dermatologist.
How long can results be seen with BOTOX® ?
BOTOX ® injection takes 5 to 7 days to take effect, but it really varies from patient to patient for treatments approved by FDA in the glabella region. It can take about 1 to 2 weeks to see the effect in Masseter BOTOX®. If you don’t see results, you may have antibodies to the botilinum toxin or you may need additional units.
What are the most common areas treated with BOTOX®?
The most common areas for BOTOX® treatment is the upper portion of the face. BOTOX® is suited for dynamic wrinkles, meaning the ones between the eyesbrows, crow’s feet, and forehead because the reason why they form is muscular movement so we have to relax the muscles in order to soften skin wrinkles.
How long does BOTOX® last?
BOTOX® usually last up to about four months. Results may last longer after repeated BOTOX® injections done in regular intervals.
How soon can I have laser treatments done on my face after BOTOX®?
